Classical performance by Dr. ( Smt. ) Sunanda Sharma

On 28th October, 2013, NIIT University was honored to welcome Dr. Sunanda Sharma, the highly revered disciple of the famous vocalist of the Benares Gharana, Smt Girija Devi, a Padma Bhushan awardee and a doyen of Indian classical vocal music, a leading vocalist amongst the young generation.

Dr. Sunanda rendered Kajri, Tappa and Thumri. The audience was spell bound by her virtuosity. Sha was accompanied by Md Khan Sahib on the harmonium, Pandit Jay Sankar on the Tabla and Ms. Rachita on the Tanpura. The beautiful evening was concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Deepak Khanna and the presentation of memento by the President, NIIT University.
