Dr Abhishek Rawat
- Assistant Professor
- Geographic Information Systems
Dr Abhishek Rawat is an Assistant Professor in the Geographic Information Systems area at NIIT University. He completed his PhD from IIT ISM (Dhanbad), with his research focused on seismic hazard assessment in northern Bihar using geospatial techniques. His research interests primarily revolve around environmental hazard assessment and the application of geospatial and image enhancement techniques.
Dr Rawat has contributed to the Fluvial Geomorphology lab at IISER Bhopal, where he worked on the project ‘Flood Plain Zonation Mapping of the Narmada River.’ He also worked at the Geosciences and Geohazard Lab at IIRS, Dehradun, as part of a team involved in an ISRO-funded project. In addition, he led a team of surveyors for the Reliance 4G project (2013-2015) at PARSAN Overseas Pvt. Ltd.
Before joining NIIT University, Dr Abhishek served as a faculty member on contract in the Geoinformatics division of the Civil Engineering Department at MANIT Bhopal.
