Visit by Industry Leaders from Japan – Strengthening Global Partnerships for Students

Date: August 21 2025

Time: 12:00 – 1:30 pm

Venue: Auditorium

A high level delegation of industry leaders from Japan visited NU on August 21, 2025. They were accompanied by Mr Amitabh Kant, Chairperson (Chancellor), NIIT University and Mr Rajendra Singh Pawar, Founder, NIIT University.

Mr. Amitabh Kant, Chairperson (Chancellor) of NIIT University, extended a warm welcome to the visiting Japanese delegation. He highlighted the values embodied by the people of Japan—excellence, perfection, collaboration, and cooperation—qualities that, he emphasized, India must adopt in its journey towards progress.

Mr. Hideaki Domichi, Former Ambassador of Japan to India and Director, Suzuki Motor Corporation, observed that while Japan is a fast-aging nation, India stands as an emerging country with immense potential. He noted that the two nations share a Special Strategic Global Partnership, and with Viksit Bharat, India is poised to become a leading nation.

Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Executive Fellow in charge of India Operations, Suzuki Motor Corporation, expressed his admiration for the greenery and natural beauty of the NIIT University campus. Reflecting on his earlier collaboration experiences in India nearly a decade ago, he recalled approaching reputed leaders for partnerships. Addressing students, he remarked that the younger generation would now be able to discover the most suitable approaches for future collaborations.

Mr. Nishikawa Toshiaki, Chairman and CEO, ASEAN GROUP Co., Ltd. (with translation by Ms. Akari Arai, Program Lead, Next Bharat Ventures), shared his thoughts on the global labour shortage and his enriching experiences working with India. He introduced his philosophy of three kinds of happiness:

1. Happiness of customers

2. Happiness of employees who build bridges between Japan and other nations

3. Happiness of all people, including India’s young talent

He further emphasized that while India has an abundance of skilled youth, they often lack opportunities. His mission, he stressed, is to help create those opportunities—particularly in the IT and medical sectors.

Mr. Vipul Jindal, Founder & Managing Director, Next Bharat Ventures spoke about how his company was started with the objective of reaching out to the next billion people drawn from small towns and villages who will be the growth engine for Bharat.

Also present were Mr. Suzuki Akira, Adviser to CEO, ASEAN GROUP Co., Ltd.
