NU team attends inaugural session at IIT Jammu for capacity building in network and mobile security

NIIT University is partnering with IIT Jammu on the ‘Competency Development Program in Network and Mobile Security’ along with several cybersecurity industry stalwarts.  As part of the initiative, an extensive six-month hybrid training program will be imparted to 30 selected officers from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) (https://dot.gov.in/ )

With growing demand for cyber security professionals, there is a strong need for capacity building in the domain of cyber security.  IIT Jammu has signed an MoU with Government of India bodies – DoT and National Telecommunications Institute for Policy Research, Innovation and Training (NTIPRIT) (https://www.ntiprit.gov.in/) for the same. IIT Jammu has invited NU and renowned industry partners in the cyber security domain to deliver the training program curated by the institute. The training program will be held in hybrid mode consisting of both on-campus and online modules.  Partner institutions include DSCI, GMR Aero Academy, Quick Heal Technologies, COMPTIA, EC Council, ISC2 partners and NIIT University.

The inaugural session, held at IIT Jammu (https://iitjammu.ac.in/) on August 21, 2024, was attended by Dr Anand Kumar Mishra and Dr Kumar Nitesh from the CSE Area. Dr Kumar Nitesh gave the partner presentation on behalf of NU.

The inaugural event had:

  • Round table discussion on delivery of the program

Dr Kumar Nitesh presented an overview of the training program’s curriculum and modules that will be delivered by NU in both online/in-class modes. There was a discussion on the program details in which eminent partners such as DSCI, GMR Aero Academy, Quick Heal Technologies, CompTIA, EC Council, and the National Telecommunications Institute for Policy Research, Innovation, and Training (NTIPRIT) participated.
