NU LIRC hosts a book exhibition on National Librarians Day

August 12 is celebrated as National Librarian’s Day in India to honour Dr S R Ranganathan who is known as the Father of Library Science. NU LIRC (Library Information and Resource Centre) organised a book exhibition on Indian Knowledge System and Cultural Heritage to raise awareness of the library’s collection among its many users.
Maj. Gen. A. K. Singh (Retd.), COO & Dean Student Affairs and Professor (Dr.) Vandana Suhag, Dean Quality & Excellence gave insightful views on rich heritage of many knowledge systems existing in the country. Indian Knowledge System (IKS) was the exhibition’s theme. Books related to IKS, contemporary India, Indian cultural heritage, Indian society, contemporary fiction, arts, painting, music, and collections of Hindi literature were displayed. The exhibition saw enthusiastic visits from NU students and staff.
