Research Symposium

Share ideas, discoveries and experiences

NIIT University’s (NU) Research Symposium Series is designed to provide participants with a unique platform to interact with domain experts from academia, industry and research labs. NU has organised two such symposiums so far: the first in 2017, and the second in 2019. Both symposiums, held at NU’s green campus at Neemrana, Rajasthan, had lectures by eminent thought leaders and researchers from across the world.

The second symposium held in April 2019 included participants from the fields of CSE and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ESE). NU’s research scholars had the opportunity to present their research in niche areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Data Science (DS), Information Security, etc.

Earlier, the 2017 symposium had attracted researchers, scientists, technologists and engineers in the field of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and gave NU’s doctoral students the opportunity to share and discuss their doctoral research with others in the field.

The 2019 symposium presented NU’s research scholars with the opportunity to interact with potential employers from academia, research labs, and industry. The scholars also gained research insights from top researchers in their specific research areas.

NU also invited high quality contributions from:

  • PhD students from institutions of national importance and premier universities who had completed three years in a doctoral programme and were due to submit their thesis within a year of the symposium
  • Young faculty members with doctoral degrees from reputed research institutes or universities, who had 1-3 years of experience

Contributors who intended to present a paper at the symposium had to submit an extended research abstract consisting of the aim of their research, brief literature survey, problem formulation, solution methodology and significant conclusions, along with a recommendation from their professor or area head to NU’s selection panel. The submission also had to include a research paper presented at a previous conference or published in a peer-reviewed journal. Participants were selected following a rigorous review based on the quality of the applicants’ research work during their PhD programme and their post-doctoral work.

These symposiums were a great success with an interesting interchange of ideas over multidisciplinary research areas. The talks and lectures engendered stimulating discussions and lent new perspectives through which to view research subjects. We look forward to continuing the series in the years to come.
