Startup Culture

Nurturing the startup spirit

Students of NIIT University (NU) have come up with 57 startup ideas since inception of which 17 have been incubated inside the campus. That’s because of our strong thrust on promoting the entrepreneurial spirit in our students.

We encourage our students to innovate and take risks, and also enable them to discover their purpose in life and develop a multi-faceted personality. Our students acquire strong problem-solving capabilities over the course of their studies besides gaining exposure to an industry of their choice through practical internships. As a result, by the end of their four years, more and more of our undergraduates are teeming with innovative ideas and raring to start their own ventures.

They are helped in this endeavour by our Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), which enables students to execute and convert their startup idea into reality. CIIE provides incubation and other services to our young entrepreneurs and creates pathways to help them take their ideas forward.
Our graduates have gone on to establish successful ventures in diverse fields from manufacturing to cyber security to green technology such as drone manufacturer AT-Lead and global leader in web application security Astra Security among others.

The environment that NU provides is a perfect breeding ground for students to think like entrepreneurs and build their own startups. The growing list of startups from NU bears testimony to the university’s purpose of provoking original thinking and creating problem solvers out of students.
