At NIIT University, entrepreneurship and student start-ups are nurtured by the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) of NIIT University. It actively fosters entrepreneurship in the domains of Information, Communication & Entertainment, Food, Agriculture & Allied Industries, Augmented Reality, Big Data & Analytics, Cloud Computing & Cybersecurity, Renewable Energy & Green Technology, Bioinformatics, and Financial Technology (FinTech). The university’s MHRD Innovation Council (MIC) also inspires students towards accepting innovation from their initial years of learning.
The vision of NIIT University’s Centre for Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) is to nurture innovative concepts and develop them into effective business models, better products, and beneficial services. The centre facilitates bridging research activity with market commercialisation and accelerates technology transfer from the industry to the laboratory. This not only allows students to develop innovative ideas but also to transform those ideas into successful ventures.
CIIE offers student entrepreneurs end-to-end, full-cycle support, empowering them with the resources and tools to bring their dreams to life. Formal branding offers through the Incubation & Startup Branding program as an ‘NIIT University Incubated Company.’ Mentorship & Guidance offered through direct interaction with industry experts, alumni, and experienced faculty for students to gain hands-on experience and industry insights.
CIIE also offers Seed Funding opportunities, when and where available. It is in the way of nurturing start-ups for start-up entrepreneurs. Investor Networking portal brings fresh minds into contact with angel investors, venture capitalists, and industry experts to utilise funds as well as association with the finest brains. On the infrastructure front, CIIE offers access to world-class libraries, workstations, laboratories, meeting rooms, and high-speed internet connectivity, providing the platform for young minds to execute their ideas.
In addition to this, the centre also offers Business Support Services, which assist startups with accounting, tax, legal compliance, and intellectual property protection. Hackathons & Competitions—such as HackNU 2.0, IdeateNU, and the Smart India Hackathon—are just a few of the activities that introduce an aspect of competition between individuals and prompt innovation. Workshops & Expos are periodically conducted to facilitate students in developing entrepreneurial skills and gaining industry exposure.
NIIT University students add laurels to their names on reputed national and international forums, once again a testament to the university’s dedication towards nurturing talent. Accolades include First Prize in the Project Innovation Contest 2022 (KIIT Bhubaneswar) and winner of the AABTonics GIS Competition 2021. They have also been awarded the Jury’s Choice Award at the IBM Hack Challenge 2020 and Global Award Nomination at the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2020. The students of NU were also runners-up for Finland’s Hack Junction and had represented the university at Hack Moscow and MHacks in the USA.

To become a part of CIIE, you must first be an enrolled student at NIIT University in any undergraduate or postgraduate program (B.Tech, iMBA, etc.).
