Scholarship policy at NU takes into consideration your academic performance in class 10 and 12 and/or any other national level specified competitive exams
Scholarship policy for b tech admissions in NIIT University is robust with multiple levels based on academic performance or entrance test, that is, the JEE percentile. Merit scholarships between ₹50,000 to ₹2,00,000 are provided for admission in btech by NIIT University to academically good students who are talented.
NIIT University provides tuition fee scholarships in terms of JEE percentile. The candidates with 94 percentile and above are entitled to the highest category of scholarship, followed by other categories of scholarships for candidates possessing scores of 90+, 85+, 83+, and 80+, respectively.
NIIT University categorizes boards into three classes. Below are the scholarship levels that can be claimed based on your class 10th and 12th aggregate marks:
Class 10th and 12th marks are considered for admission in btech by NIIT University while awarding the scholarship, and boards are categorized for uniformity as there are various grading systems.
NIIT University grants Class 12 board mark-based scholarships for admission in btech, divided according to education board:
Category 1 (CBSE, ICSE, IB, Karnataka, and Kerala boards):
Students who have scored 150 marks and above are given scholarships (higher the score, higher the scholarship amount).
Category 2 (Boards of Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh):
The scholarship will be for students who get 140 marks and above.
Category 3 (Boards of Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar, and Gujarat):
Students will have to get 130 marks or above to get eligible for scholarships, with higher scholarships for higher marks.
Also, if you are seeking early admission for btech and your Class 12 performance is superior to your Class 10 performance, your scholarship level can be increased considering your enhanced performance.
Special Scholarship:- is full tuition fee waiver and is extended to the top performing students.
NIIT University also rewards Co-Curricular Excellence beyond the classroom. CoX (Co-Curricular Excellence) Scholarship shall be awarded to candidates with the highest marks in sports, music, dance, fine arts, theatre, or social service at school board, state, national, or international level. Certificate of merit should have been secured within a window period of five years maximum. Olympiad or private music/dance test is not acceptable.”.
NIIT University offers a ₹15,000 yearly Women in STEAM Scholarship to all female students enrolling in any undergraduate program including b tech admissions.
A minor additional help in the form of special fee waivers is provided by NIIT University to those applicants who possess some special eligibility criteria. A fee waiver of ₹25,000 per year is provided to a student who is a sibling of current or former NU student, a child/daughter of NIIT Ltd., subsidiary, or NIIT Foundation employee, or a child/son of current or former NU employee.
Along with this, an annual fee waiver of ₹15,000 is provided to Armed Forces wards employees and SC/ST/OBC class students. Other than that, Rajasthan domicile students are also provided with an annual fee waiver of ₹25,000. Waivers are backed by merit scholarships or the CoX scholarship, but once fee waiver.
Even though NIIT University offers a variety of scholarships to eligible students for admission in btech, keeping in mind that all the scholarships are subject to some terms and conditions.
After receiving a scholarship to one student, he/she will be required to have a minimum AGPA or CGPA of 6.0 throughout the study period if he/she should be in a position to experience future rewards of a scholarship.
On the other hand, NU is also capable of offering additional scholarships if the students achieve better results academically once admitted into the university.
