Dr Jayraj Singh
- Assistant Professor
- Area: Computer Science and Engineering
Dr Jayraj Singh received his PhD from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, India. He pursued his postdoc research (interdisciplinary research) at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), India. Dr Singh received his Master Degrees MTech (CSE), and MSc (IT), from Pondicherry Central University, Puducherry, and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, Lucknow, India respectively. He has completed his Bachelor’s degree BSc in Physics (Hons.), from Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, India.
Dr Singh has published several research papers in reputed, peer-reviewed national and international conferences/ journals/ book chapters, including Scopus and SCI/SCIE. He has received Best Paper Award in Indian Landslide Congress (ILC 2017) at IIT Bombay. He has delivered many invited/keynotes talks at International & National webinars. He has served as a reviewer and programme committee member of several journals and conferences of national and international reputes. Besides, he is an active member of CSE society, IEEE, and International Association of Engineers (IAENG).
He prefers an open-minded approach towards selecting research topics, and considers the following in his choice: (i) social relevance of the problem (ii) encouragement of students to develop and pursue their research interests and (iii) the multidisciplinary and collaborative nature of research. His current research interests can be broadly categorised as but are not limited to: (i) Evolutionary computation (ii) Machine learning, (ii) Soft computing (iii) Meta-heuristic optimization and (iv)IoT & cloud computing. Several research areas, mostly interdisciplinary in nature and open problems in other fields where AI & ML methods are a demanding tool, can be managed efficiently by Dr Singh.
