NU celebrates Teachers’ Day 2023

Prof Deepak Khanna setting the tone for Teachers Day 2023

Date : September 05 2023
Time: 6:00 pm
Venue: Auditorium

Teachers’ Day, as we are all aware since our childhood, is celebrated on 5th September every year in honour of Dr S Radhakrishnan, the second President of India. 5th September 1888 is the birthday of Dr. S Radhakrishnan who is known to have said – “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5 September is observed as Teachers’ Day.” And thus began Teachers’ Day celebrations since the year 1962.

NU celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September 2023.  It began in the morning with an online quiz about the significance of the day which had several NUtons participating enthusiastically and send in their answers promptly.

In the evening, NUtons once again got together and put up a cultural extravaganza in the Audi consisting of several songs, dances and a skit by the various clubs. The event hosts were Chesta Bharadwaj and Agnishwar Raychaudhuri. The highlight of the event was a memorable play written and directed by the students themselves that brought out quite aptly the difference between a human and an AI-teacher!

The event details are given below followed by photographs for us to savor the enjoyable performances.

NUrturers extend a heartfelt thank you to NUtons for this enjoyable programme!
