How Sparsh Kumar benefited from NU’s Biotech programme
Sparsh Kumar began his journey with NIIT University (NU) with the BTech in Biotechnology programme in 2018. Here he benefited from the academic expertise of NU faculty members, who shared their knowledge and helped him acquire hands-on experience with the necessary tools that would enable his seamless transition into the biotechnology industry.
Thanks to NU’s vast body of rigorous research, an industry-oriented curriculum, and the fully equipped and cutting-edge research laboratories at the NU campus, Sparsh gained both theoretical and practical knowledge in biotechnology, and learned about new global developments in the field.
As part of his R&D project, Sparsh worked on ‘In-silico drug designing for COVID-19’. With the continuous support and mentorship of the NU faculty, he also published a paper titled, ‘A Lung Transcriptomic Analysis for Exploring Host Response in COVID-19’ in the peer reviewed Scopus and Web of Science journals.
The hard work has now paid off. Sparsh’s deep interest in biotechnology and the research skills he developed during his tenure at NU helped him land a position with Ruhvenile Biomedical OPC Pvt Ltd in New Delhi. He’s currently engaged at this Biotech R&D startup as a Research Intern, pursuing his Industry Practice (IP) and working on developing therapeutics against neurological disorders.
Sparsh has finally found his calling, with NU serving as a springboard for his career goals, and starting him on a path to putting his talents to use in the biotechnology sector.
