Invited talk on how to discover Rogers-Ramanujan identities by Dr Gaurav Bhatnagar
NIIT University had the privilege of hosting an invited talk by Dr Gaurav Bhatnagar, an expert in number theory and special functions, who delivered an engaging and thought-provoking talk titled How to Discover the Rogers-Ramanujan Identities on April 23, 2025 in the auditorium from 3:30-4:30 pm. This talk was more than a mathematical exposition; it was a journey through the minds of great mathematicians and a celebration of intellectual curiosity.
Workshop on Machine Learning and Bioinformatics at Biotechnology and Bioinformatics
The Biotechnology & Bioinformatics Area (Department) at NIIT University conducted an enriching two-day workshop titled “Machine Learning and Bioinformatics: Unlocking Insights from Gene Expression Data” on April 21–22, 2025. The workshop was curated and co-ordinated by Dr Utkarsh and Dr Sanjeev specifically for second and third-year BTech Biotechnology students with the goal of bridging the gap between biology and data science by providing hands-on training in modern computational tools and machine learning methods for biological data analysis.
Invited Talk on Dijkstra’s and Bellman-Ford’s Algorithm by Prof Talaga from UINDY
Dr Paul Talaga from University of Indianapolis delivers a talk on Dijkstra’s and Bellman-Ford’s Algorithm on April 02 2025 at 6:00 pm. Dr Talaga is a graduate of Syracuse University with a PhD in Computer and Information Systems. He has a diverse technology background, including artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing, and web security. His primary research interest lies in optimizing data locality in large computer and web systems. An award-winning teacher in the classroom, he has developed software to facilitate CS delivery and grading in computer science courses.
Interdisciplinary industrial visit to Parle Biscuits Pvt Ltd, Neemrana
An interdisciplinary industrial visit, probably one of the first of its kind, was organised by NIIT University. BTech Biotechnology (1st-3rd year) and iMBA (1st year) students together went on an industrial visit to Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd., Neemrana, Rajasthan. Accompanied by Dr Sanjeev, Dr Utkarsh, and Ms Shivani Varshney, PhD scholar, and two staff members, students of both branches explored the production lines, witnessed the biscuit manufacturing process, and gained valuable industry insights. The visit provided a unique learning experience not only bridging the gap between theory and practice but also between the domains of biotechnology and management due to the cross-domain exchanges that occurred amongst students, faculty and Parle industry experts.
Smoothie Zone – another health food outlet opened at NIIT University
A new food outlet, Smoothie Zone, was opened on NU campus to offer healthy eating options. The café offers fruit and vegetable juices, salads and chaats, milk shakes and lassi, subs and sandwiches and more. It was inaugurated by Mrs Neeti Pawar. Mr Rajendra S Pawar, Founder – NIIT University, Prof Prakash Gopalan, President – NIIT University, Prof Parimal V Mandke, Vice President – NIIT University and Maj Gen A K Singh (Retired) – Dean Student Affairs graced the occasion.
NIIT University holds its first Women’s Cricket League – NUWCL
NU organised the first ever Women’s Cricket League – NUWCL, starting February 16, 2025. The matches were played in Cage Cricket Ground at 6:00 pm daily. This exciting initiative aims to celebrate the talent, passion, and determination of female athletes, providing them with a platform to showcase their skills and compete in a professionally organized environment.
10-metre shooting range inaugurated at NIIT University
NIIT University’s new 10-metre air pistol shooting range for the NUMarksmen club was inaugurated by Mrs Neeti Pawar on 15 Feb 2025. Mr Rajendra S Pawar – NU Founder , Mr P Rajendran, Member – Board of Management, Prof Prakash Gopalan -President, Prof Parimal V Mandke – Vice President and Maj Gen A K Singh (Retired) – Dean Student Affairs & Chief Operations Officer graced the occasion. The shooting range details was shared by Maj Gen A K Singh (Retired) with the club members. Members, whether seasoned shooters or just starting out, can use the shooting range to hone their skills and prepare for upcoming competitions.
Panel discussion by GT Bharat and Walker Chandiok experts on Union Budget 2025
A stimulating panel discussion BY was organised at NU experts from GT Bharat and Walker Chandiok & Co LLP on February 11, 2025, a thought-provoking panel discussion on “Insights from Union Budget 2025” was conducted at NU. The panelists were experts from Grant Thornton Bharat and Walker Chandiok & Co LLP.
NU IPR Cell organizes a talk on IPR Ignition by U C Agarwal
Mr U C Agarwal, who is an external industry expert member of the NIIT University IPR cell, visited NIIT University campus on January 29 2025 and delivered a talk on “IPR Ignition” from 3.15 PM to 4 PM in the Auditorium.The talk highlighted the significance of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property protections. The session emphasized how IPR safeguards innovation, promotes business growth, and encourages creativity. Patents protect new inventions, trademarks secure brand identity, and copyrights ensure creative works remain exclusive to their creators. The discussion also covered the economic benefits of IPR, particularly in startups and industries.
NU hosts Neemrana Jal Samvad
Water is one of the key resources under threat because of climate change. Water, as we already know is an absolute essential not only for human existence but also for our sustenance and well-being. NIIT University hosted a dialogue on Water – Neemrana Jal Samvad – a Rajasthan state level special water dialogue. The event was organized by the Central Ground Water Board , RIICO , and Neemrana Industries Association.
