Celebrating Republic Day 2024: Revisiting values of Oneness, Peace, and Harmony
On 26th January 2024, the campus was adorned with the vibrant colors of the Indian flag, fluttering proudly in the gentle breeze. Students, faculty, and staff gathered in the bowl area, brimming with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag, accompanied by the stirring strains of the national anthem, echoing across the campus. A series of cultural performances followed, showcasing the rich diversity and heritage of India, from traditional dances to melodious musical renditions. Thought-provoking speeches were delivered, emphasizing the values of democracy, unity, and progress. The event culminated in a collective pledge to uphold the ideals enshrined in the Indian Constitution, inspiring everyone present to contribute towards the nation’s growth and development. There was an online quiz regarding the genesis and importance behind the special day in which everyone participated enthusiastically.
NU hosts the Nanhi Chhaan Programme 2023

Prof Solanki, also known as the ‘Solar Man of India’ and ‘Solar Gandhi,’ serves as the Brand Ambassador of Solar Energy for Madhya Pradesh.

NU celebrates Teachers’ Day 2023
Teachers’ Day, as we are all aware since our childhood, is celebrated on 5th September every year in honour of Dr S Radhakrishnan, the second President of India. 5th September 1888 is the birthday of Dr. S Radhakrishnan who is known to have said – “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5 September is observed as Teachers’ Day.” And thus began Teachers’ Day celebrations since the year 1962.
Embracing Health and Wellness: Celebrating International Yoga Day 2023
International Day of Yoga was proposed by India’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the United Nations. On December 11 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga. It has been celebrated globally since 2015, honouring the ancient practice of yoga that brings about a radical transformation in humans at both the individual and collective levels as yoga is ‘the journey of the self, to the self, through the self’. This year, NIIT University joined hands with the world to celebrate the 9th International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2023. The theme of the 9th International Day of Yoga is ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – The World is One Family. This special occasion brought together over 140 participants, including students, faculty, staff, members of the local civil administration, and the local community from Neemrana, to embrace health and wellness through the power of yoga.
NU celebrates World Environment Day 2023
NIIT University, already a champion of sustainable living since inception, as stated in its Vision & Mission Statement and attested by its green campus celebrated the World Environment Day on June 5 2023.
The World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the earth, our only home. It has been in practice since 1972 when the first World Environment Day was announced by the United Nations. Although, celebrated on one day, it is important to make commitments to protect the environment and put them in action.
